1 year sober today...it can be done!
by digderidoo injust wanted to post here to say i am now 1 year sober.
funny thing is i don't miss drink at all, it took a 3 or 4 months of hard work about 18 months ago and have not looked back since.. this is my first thread about the aa, posted january 2008.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/150354/1/went-to-aa-meeting-last-night.
i would encourage anyone who thinks they may have a problem to get help, it is out there.. since i have become sober i am now doing a law degree, took up scuba diving, got my kids involved in snorkelling, scuba, horse riding and shooting.

I hate the CO
by superman inso i was talking to my mother the other day, and she was distressed because she was saying that if my little sister isn't baptized or working toward it by the time she's 18 (which is coming up soon) she may have to move out (more then likely she'll move in with me and my girlfriend, or my older sister if that happens).
my little sister is a great kid (high honor roll, no trouble, hard worker, etc), that many parents would be grateful to have.
i asked my mom, why would they take parenting advice from a guy who doesn't (and hasn't) ever had kids?

I've seen elders step down for this very reason! Even if they had a disfellowshipped child living at home (an adult) who was moving toward reinstatement. He had to choose. It's a sad fact.
Billy the ex quotes the principle they use. If he can't preside over his own household, he's not setting a good example for the flock. End of story.

Please don't take that as an insult to you. You only asked a question...my answer is no. I don't drink, therefore I am not drunk.

I abhor anyone who drives while intoxicated. It's always the drunken idiot who walks away from the accident...not the innocent party. It ruins anothers life and for what?
This is a hot topic for me. If you drive drunk, or buzzed or whatever you want to call it...I hope you get caught and the book thrown at you.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 05-03-09 WT Study (LAMB)
by blondie inevidence of god's confidence in the anointed, who "keep following the lamb no matter where he goes.
16 "my sheep listen to my voice," said jesus, "and i know them, and they follow me.
what shows that jesus christ completely trusts the slave class?

That scripture in John in the first paragraph is the one that freed me.
Crying and praying, God let me see that that scripture had been misapplied to the FDS for so long! They use it over and over. It is ingrained in your sub conscious. But one day, I realized the word "Whom". It's not "Where". It's Jesus. That simple. What a flood of emotion as I realized I had taken the first step to walking out. The spell was broken.
Hopefully, their use of it once again, will take hold in another individuals heart and lead them away too.

Not even say a "greeting" to them...
by integ inthe new co in the area referenced the above quote from the bible during one of his talks recently.
his point was that we need to get out in the ministry and not take a bunch of breaks in service and stuff.
he said that jesus told his followers that when he sent them out.

What they won't say to get you under their thumb! CO's are notorious for putting on the pressure. I'm sure the disciples never stopped to go fishing in the ministry either...they just quickly ran through the local MC Donald's and picked up a fish sandwich so they could eat on the run. Crazy man!

The kids have had their noses in their Nintendo DS Christmas presents and I've had the computer to myself. Well, hubby does have the laptop...I'm not cruel! I'm going to go check the site out now!

I am done myself....but the hubby and one of the children still need to do some this weekend. Aggggggghhhhhhh. I hate crowds. It will be murder for traffic. All are wrapped except two which will require charging the batteries Christmas Eve. I had one to mail and got that off yesterday. It just seems like it came so fast this year.
